Ça alors, what chic affordable specs you have! All the better to make you look fabulous… And help people in need gain access to quality eyecare.

That’s the thinking behind Bloobloom’s designer eyewear business. For every pair of glasses they sell online and in store, they donate a pair to someone for whom clear vision is an expensive luxury.

The well-travelled French-raised founders wanted a subtle international essence to infuse their brand. Which meant I got to flex my linguistic muscles while helping them develop a voice that expresses their zeal for adventure, design and equality.

Voilà. Fresh style meets thoughtful giving.

WHAT THEY THINK

We needed to bring in a copywriter who could help us establish a unique tone of voice and deliver high-quality content for all our communication channels. Eileen did all that and much more, in a very responsive, thoughtful and creative style. Her proficiency in French and knowledge of the French culture was also a big added bonus.

Atelier Ten is a multi-award-winning global environmental engineering consultancy.

A big title, deservedly so. Atelier means ‘workshop’ in French and their professional scope encompasses environmental design, lighting design and a vast array of building services. They do all these at the highest level of expertise with a green hat on and red-hot industry techniques at their fingertips.

 Even fast-forward-thinking experts sometimes need a hand to share their work with us less technical mortals. I enjoy helping them do this, I learn a LOT.

Being some of the brightest people in the world, the folks at Cambridge are (no surprise) excellent writers. But when it came to revamping their website, they recognised their tendency towards a formal academic tone of voice might not always appeal to 17 year-old prospective students.

Working with Contra agency, my remit was to create engaging copy for a range of audiences, plus a Style Guide to help staff and academics write future edits in a similar style.

Breathe is an unusual arts-in-health charity using magic and performing arts to help children and adults with physical and mental health conditions. Their work combines a basis in solid scientific research with fun creative approaches to therapy.

The copy needed to do something similar. To engage and explain their services to potential patients, as well as convince parents, medical professionals and health boards of the genuine expertise backing up their programmes.

Buzzacott is a Top 25 UK accountancy and HR consultancy, known for wide-ranging specialisms and expertise.

Clients describe it as ‘the friend you take to the difficult meeting’. Unusually for its size, it’s mostly based under one roof in the City of London, allowing its staff and clients to grow close personal connections alongside business ones.

Working with agency Thirteen on a floor-to-ceiling brand refresh, I created copy for their full client range: businesses, not-for-profits and private individuals. My role was to bring the company personality firmly to the fore and show why people trust (and keep on trusting) them.
